Our humble abode!

This week we celebrated 1 year in our first apartment in Cary, NC! Yeah, i know..no big deal. But I don't want to forget this time in our life, it goes by way to quickly. We moved from my parents house to this apartment in March of 2011. On the same day we moved, I also got a new Hyundai Santa Fe. I know, crazy right?! We do plan on moving again in July to be closer to where Chris goes to school but for now we are enjoying our delightful apt. :)
Heres a few pictures I just took while writing this post: haha!
Looking in from the front door
The living room. See my laptop on the couch? :)

The kitchen & sitting room (note that the "sitting room" is supposed to be a dining room,
but we don't have a table so we had to change that)
Our bedroom (and unmade bed)
and lastly, our Christmas tree! Ok, so its March and we haven't had it up since Christmas
but it was too cute not to add.

Guess Who?!!

Wow, talk about not sticking to your word! Blogging is clearly not one of my strong points, but then again neither is picture taking, exercising or getting somewhere on time. But it doesn't mean I wont try. I realized recently that I love the concept of blogging; a journal that just requires typing and doesn't require a place to store it. The problem is that I am totally intimidated by the concept of people reading it. Mostly because I cant just default to writing about my kids or an interesting hobby because well, I don't have or do those things. So, it ends up just being me...and often times that makes me uncomfortable. But, for the day I decide to share this (like when I do have the kids or the hobby) I'll just go ahead and write..even for myself.
So, life has taken quite a whirlwind for us since moving to NC at Christmas of 2009. Chris has been working on his prerequisites for school since fall 2009 and in January of 2012 he began Nursing school! Yay! He is totally loving it and truly enjoys both taking care of people and learning so much fun stuff. He also works at Rex Hospital as a Nursing assistant on the Orthopedic floor. He is honestly the most caring person I know. I can't imagine how he does some of the things he does for people. If you were left in my hands you would probably die. :) I on the other hand have been working a full time job! In October 2010 my brother-in-law, Dustin and I decided that come 2011 I would begin working full time for him helping him manage his insurance business. So, I work from my home office and well, work! I also work on occasion as a Health educator at the Poe Center for Health Education (since October of 2009). I love the combination of both, I don't have to rush out of the house in the morning and I still get to see people during the week! Currently I am teaching a weekly program at an afterschool program in the worst neighborhood of Raleigh. Of course this is right up my ally and I look forward to going every week.
We have loved getting to see my nieces and nephews so often. We are right down the road from my sisters family, including 2 of my nieces and 1 nephew. But we are also super close to my brother and his family, 3 nephews and 2 nieces. AND on top of that we have been just a 5 hour drive from Chris' brother and his family, 4 nieces! SO, it has been great. We get to see them all at least every few months and we love it! (We also enjoy getting to see our siblings and siblings-in-laws as well!)
Isn't he so cute! (Camden, 7 months- My sisters youngest)
We love each other!
Chris and I talk often about what the future will hold. I feel like I'm getting old and should have this figured out by now. I mean Chris will be 30 (!) this year and we just celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary in August. But, well, we have no idea what the future holds. We often throw around ideas, hopes and passions, but lots of those overlap leaving us even more confused. We end every conversation realizing that its something we will have to leave up to Lord. Something we must release control over and just follow Christ (while enjoying the ride!).
I wish I had more pictures to post. But like I said at the beginning, pictures are not a strong point for me so i don't have any. (ok, I'll work on it!) There is my latest life update! Hopefully from here, i can quit updating and start actually blogging! :)
