Today was day 10 of life on my own! On a good note.. that means I only have 8 more until Chris comes home! I have been doing great and taking lots of time to hang out with friends, with Jesus and getting some much needed work done. (Although, I could have done a bit more work and a little less hanging.)
The last time I heard from Chris was Tuesday. He had taken a two hour bus ride along the Amazon and then a 4 hour boat ride up the Amazon from one city in Peru to a village up the river on Monday. After just one day in the village he seemed to be really excited for the days ahead. He said they had done some work on a building during the day and attended a church that night. Sadly, thats about as much as I got out before the phone cut off. I'm pretty sure his calling card ran out. But I was glad to hear that he was doing good and hopefully enjoying his time there. He did quickly say to me, "I'm going to have to bring you here one day". We'll i won't say i'll NEVER go.. but i will say, please don't take me to be eaten alive by bugs. I hate bugs!.. but at the time I just agreed, secretly thinking.. no Lord, please don't feed me to the bugs.
Well we'll see. Only time will tell what lies ahead. For now I must work on cleaning my house and get ready to fly out to go see my parents for the week. (I must do something to pass the time!)

and off he goes...
Chris took off on a plane to TX just a few hours ago.. and left me here in Philadelphia to fend for myself. He's on his way to Peru with a good friend and his church for a mission trip. As much as I would have loved to join them.. I have commitments that keep me home for now. So, while he's gone I decided to write on the blog and let you know what I've been up to and what he's up to in Peru. I'll write more later..I just wanted to let you know he's on the move and that both of us would appreciate your prayers (and entertainment) while we're apart. I wish safety didn't have to be such a huge issue.. but I do live in the ghetto and he is going up the Amazon river! =)
Hope your all well,

Looking for a Suggestion and a Praise
Anna and I are doing great here in the city of brotherly love. We have a request or maybe better well said, we are looking for a suggestion. There is a lady here in Philly that we have gotten to know because we deliver a bag of food to her. I was talking to her the other day and she was sharing with me about her life and all that was going on with her. My heart broke for her because she has been through so much and feels really lost.
I always try to encourage her and share Christ love with her. We have had good conversations about the Lord but I can always tell that her hurts are really holding her down. The other day when we were talking she was sharing with me that she loves to read and I told her that I would bring some books by that I have read and really enjoyed. As I left I also thought it would be great if I could give her a book that deals with all her hurts as well as dealing with who she is as God's daughter. So that's where you come in, if any of you know of a good book to pass along to this lady please let me know by leaving a comment. Also any of you men who happen to read this ask your wife or your mother if they know of any good books for women. Thanks so much and let us know if you have a book in mind.
And we are also happy to announce that our wonderful brother and brother-in-law Jimmy is back from Afghanistan. He has been over in Afghanistan for the past year on the front lines in the mountains over there. It was a pretty intense year for them as far as war goes. They were featured on the NBC nightly news as well as in TIME magazine and the New York Post. We are so thankful he is back home safe and sound and we ask for you to lift him and his family up in prayer as well as all his guys and their families who came home yesterday and also for the families of those who did not make it home. They spent a very hard year over there and I'm sure they need all the rest and relaxation they can get with their friends and family.
